TIP: iPhone Email Batch Delete

With the iPhone 2.0 upgrade you will find that Apple has added the ability for users to delete or move multiple message from your email inbox to a folder or delete them. In the original version of iPhone, you have to perform these basic functions with messages one at a time.

When you are in your email inbox and you press the Edit key in the upper right hand corner a blue/gray bar will appear across the bottom with two buttons: Delete and Move. Down the left side of the message summary, you'll see round buttons and if you press them it will place a check mark next to the message you wish to act upon. You may select consecutive messages or intermitten ones and then either press the Delete button to remove them or Move button to store them to another folder.

Why not add a 'Select all'?

That's what it really needs, a select all. Blackberry has a 'delete previous' and you can select that and it deletes everything that was before. I get at least 50 emails a day and it's a pain to have to touch each one to select it.

I now have 980 e-mails on my i-phone and don't know how to get them off without the one-on-one edit or batch edit, which is not working. the little circle does not appear.... and several message have a file of their own with two or more messages. I am frustrated, no apps to help with this? David Martin dmartin@murney.com

It drives me crazy when I have to delete one by one the e-mail messages from the iphone. I cannot keep up with it and apparently Apple has not comeup with any solution, except telling customers to get an imap account which ATT does NOT support. So I am screwed!
Does anyone have any suggestions other than checkmark them and then delete all, which you still have to checkmark one by one! DUHHH!

I hear you bro. I just spent 30 minutes deleting email from my Bulk Mail on my iphone. If you can mass deleted mail in the trash why cannot they have the same for Bulk Mail?

That is the suitable weblog for anyone who needs to find out about this topic. You understand so much its almost onerous to argue with you (not that I really would need…HaHa). You positively put a new spin on a topic thats been written about for years. Great stuff, just great! usa online casino
